CH46 Sea Knight

The Model

The MS Composit CH46 Sea Knight kit consists on an aluminium backbone with three seperate glass fibre frames.

The mechanics arrive in three three bags designed to be opened as construction progresses. There are not that many elements to be assembled within the chassis itself and it is a very straight forward and easy kit to build

The brushless motor is unique, its shaft protrudes at the top and the bottom of the motor allowing it to drive front and rear mainsafts, the rear via a carbon propshaft. This element limits motor choice but as it is brushless I dont think this is an issue.

I opted for all MS electronics with the exception of Hitec servos. The MS025 Tandem mixer is the key element in the electronics which provides the differential mixing to allow forward flight. The electronics kit also includes a second gyro to help control elevator angle, no gyro is used for Aileron input

The kit also has a two half lexan canopy and a set of window masks to allow painting, decals are provided. Instructions are paper based but can also be downloaded off the net if needed, illustrations are excellent as are the majority of the instructions.

Almost everything bolts together, very little use of CA or other glues is apparent

I am impressed wiht the quality of all the components, I was amazed at how small the box the kit arrives in was initially but everything is there to make up the complete kit.
