CH46 Sea Knight

Rationale

The idea of a tandem rotor helicopter has intrigued me for some time and I have admired the CH47 Chinook since I saw one completing extreme aerobatic manouvers at a Grand Prix event.

There are a few large scale kits around that tend to be very expensive due to the mechanical and electrical complexity of the kits.

When I saw the MS kit of the CH46 Sea Knight I knew it was for me as it was relatively inexpensive and had the plus point of being electric powered.

Research on the net threw up very few completed examples so it was going to be a case of suck it and see construction.

What examples I have seen look superb and appear to fly well in the few videos available.

Although by no means a 'full scale' kit the completed canopy looks very realistic in flight.

Researching a theme for my completed heli I happend across some shots of a US Marine Corp version which I liked, I have tried loosely to mirror this particular example in terms of finish.

Mechanically the kit comes brushless as standard, all electronic components can be sourced from MS Composit so they are directly matched.

The biggest advantage as far as I am concerned is that the heads are standard Hornet CP which I can put together in my sleep so there shouldnt be any problems there.
