Part 3 - Undercarriage

The undercarriage is made up of 6mm DIA tube for the skids and 10mm flat bar (shaped to 8mm) for the struts.

The two struts are joined together and in turn to the rest of the helicopter via 13.5mm 'C' section.

Again I printed out templates to cut out the components to shape and drill relevant holes.

To join the struts to the skids a keyway or slot is filed into the ends, this then fits into a slot cut into the skid.

Moving the srut forward then locks it in position.

The skids are then glued to the struts using epoxy resin, I filled any remaining slots with a product called 'Quicksteel' after this had set.

The 'C' section is then bolted in position with M2.5 bolts

The resultant assembly is very strong.
