The main components of the model where assembled including the winglets before filling seems, cleaning and then a coat of matt light grey.

This picture shows the fairings I made up using light gauge plasticard to cover over the protruding main gear. This is to improve the sight line during flight and isnt intended to make the model look better whilst static.

I noticed that a fellow Runryder member had built the same model and found a much better solution to the main gear problem using gears. I am not confident I could scratch build something that elaborate though.

The battery was painted matt black to further hide it, the doors will be left in the open position to aid cooling.

The models engines where trimmed around the Himax motor leaving space for cooling, I dont intend to fly the model for more than a couple of minutes so this should not be an issue.

I decided to use the camouflage of the 'Czech Air Force Kleine Brogel' (EBBL) from the late 1990's which involves dark grey stripes.

You can see that fairings over the main gear blend in quite well now and are not hugely noticeable. I also painted the battery connections dark grey to tone down from red.

Note that now that the aileron servo has been painted it is not that prominent, the same is true for the elevator servo.

With the landing skids left light grey they to are not noticeable that much in flight.

I dont intend to fly the model for long at all with the engine cowling in place due to heat, I left off the models representation of the de-icing system, immediately above the main motor, to aid cooling.

Cockpit and cabin doors in place, the right side lower cabin door can be closed, I left the upper door open to allow any heat from the Li-Poly battery to escape.

The left side cabin doors are both left open to allow access to the battery connections.

Below - Ordnance in place combination of guns, rocket launchers and missiles, look out any stray Hummingbirds!

I covered the ends of the landing skids with shrink rap tube for safety and a softer landing.

Having completed all the construction all the decals where applied to finish it off.

Although the main and tail rotors are obviously from a Hummingbird they do not look too out of scale with the model so I am pleased with the results
